Getting Young Living Distributors Out Of The Information Loop
This is something I saw being discussed today by some Network Marketers recently. It was a fascinating subject and one I thought EOSU might find interesting as well.
It’s regarding the moment you realize that you know enough.
You see I met a ton of Oilers at Convention this year and I asked each and every one of them how their business was going. Most of you replied with “I cannot wait until I really know enough about the oils so I can sell them!” Immediately after that comment, I would follow up and ask “Really? That’s great! How long have you been in the business?” I was expecting people to say something like 3 months, 2 months, or maybe as long as 6 months. But what I heard – on average was “Oh, I’ve been a distributor for 4 years, 5 years, 8 years.”
Well, I thought long and hard on how to approach this issue of feeling like you don’t know enough. You see, a lot of people get into a trap or “loop” of buying product after product or listening to teleconference after teleconference and follow guru after guru looking for the magic pill that will bless them and tell them they know enough to achieve success in this business.
I honestly believe some of it stems from two things:
laziness
and
fear
We think this stuff should be easy, but find its difficult. So, we blame our lack of knowledge, our lack of sales-ability, or we blame the company, or we blame our upline. We search in vain for the easy way out.
Until that day we realize the formula is never going to be that easy and we either QUIT… or we realize we already have everything WITHIN that will help us be a success.
- We care deeply for the health and wellbeing of others.
- We seek to share oils with every person out there.
- We are naturally gifted healers and very talented at it.
- We have very deep, caring relationships with others and we seek to build more of those relationships.
- We give into intuition and we know we can trust our intuition to guide us to the right oil, every single time.
I’ve seen people who have spent 1000s of dollars looking for the magic formula in network marketing. But they never find it.
Why?
Because there isn’t one. Or when one emerges – it doesn’t last long; the market becomes saturated with people running after the latest gadget, guru and coach, forgetting that we have everything we need to be successful in this business.
That why I think it is so important to hang out in communities that foster this intuitive knowing, and foster your true wisdom and knowledge. I believe that you should carefully assess any program you are thinking of getting involved with. Read all the free stuff out there and THEN choose a path that is best suited to YOU. Don’t fall for the glitz and glamor. Rather, go with the warm feeling you get when you read words from someone you trust who has the wisdom you seek.
After you’ve decided what path is best, then maybe buy a few courses or programs related to that path…
Once you do that, commit to it and don’t be distracted just because you see everyone else running to the New Big Thing.
Everyone’s going to be selling you something. All of them will convince you it’s the next best thing, but they are just SELLING something.
I’m not saying don’t buy anything. I am saying focus on a specific area and get to work. Invest in your education. Stay true to the you that you are. If something doesn’t fit, don’t try to make it fit. Let it go and try something else.
Don’t get bogged down by purchasing every new thing that comes along… This will never stop. There will always be new products and new information and new tools to ogle over…
There’s just too much information in this world and not enough wisdom. So you need to sift through the garbage to find the truth that speaks to you.
You need to know when to stop accumulating information and START building your business.Your business is the only thing that is going to make you money… Just take one step at a time.
Just one step at a time.
Stay focused on your path and your dream.
So take a look at what you already know. Try and introduce at least 2 people per day to your oils. If your introduction isn’t stimulating interest, take a step back, and remember
“Its ALL Practice and you have ALL the time in the world.”
Take a look at yourself and make a decision to start acting. Start putting your money into your business instead of into all those products!
Start talking about oils today and make a commitment to meet 2 new people per day, every day!
